Job summary

EXP Services Inc. in Florida is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Hospitality HVAC design team in the Miami (Coral Gables) or Fort Lauderdale offices. You will work on HVAC systems for aviation, transit and commercial buildings, using CAD tools.

The role involves hands-on CAD, load calculations, equipment selection, and coordination with multiple disciplines for HVAC projects. Recent graduates or interns are encouraged to apply; familiarity with AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP is desirable.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years designing HVAC systems for aviation, transit, and commercial building projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering.
• AutoCAD MEP and REVIT MEP familiarity.
• EIT certification is desirable; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on CAD using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit.
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations with industry software (Trace, Energy Pro, DOE).
• Select and schedule equipment with oversight by senior staff.
• Layout air and water side systems on working drawings.
• Understand fan and pump curves to properly select equipment.
• Communicate with equipment vendors to determine requirements for applying products.
• Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, FP, Arch, Struct) for HVAC details.
• Maintain the Engineering Calculation Book for projects.
• Understand work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan.
• Understand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly apply equipment.

What your experience looks like

• 0 to 3 years in designing HVAC systems for Aviation, Transit and Commercial Building projects or recent graduate with internship experience in the HVAC field for construction projects, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
• AnEngineering Bachelor’s degree specializing in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering
• Auto CAD, REVIT MEP familiar
• Good Written and verbal communication
• EIT Certification is desired.
