Job summary

EXP Services Inc. in Florida is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Engineer to join the Mechanical team for Hospitality/HVAC design projects in the Miami (Coral Gables) or Fort Lauderdale offices.

You will perform hands-on CAD using AutoCAD MEP and Revit, run load calculations with Trace, Energy Pro and DOE, select equipment, lay out systems, and collaborate with vendors and other disciplines to deliver coordinated drawings and documented engineering calculations.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in designing HVAC systems for Aviation, Transit and Commercial Building projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering.
• AutoCAD MEP and Revit familiarity.
• EIT Certification desired, working towards PE.

Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on CAD using AutoCAD MEP and Revit.
• Conduct heating and cooling load calculations with Trace, Energy Pro and DOE.
• Select and schedule HVAC equipment with oversight by senior staff.
• Layout air and water side systems on working drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines (MEP, FP, Arch, Struct) for HVAC details.
• Maintain the Engineering Calculation Book and project documentation.

Your work environment at EXP

In this role, you will be a part of the Mechanical team,for HospitalityHVAC Design projects in the Miami (Coral Gables) or Fort Lauderdale FL office.

What a day at EXP has in store for you

• Perform hands-on CAD using AutoCAD MEP and/or Revit platforms
• Perform heating and cooling load calculations with industry software (Trace, Energy Pro, DOE)
• Select and schedule equipment with oversight by senior staff
• Layout air and water side systems on working drawings
• Understand fan and pump curves to properly select equipment for application
• Communicate with equipment vendors to determine requirements for applying products
• Perform field verification and take-offs of existing systems for renovation projects
• Coordinate with other disciplines (mep, fp, arch, struct, etc) for HVAC details
• Maintain the Engineering Calculation Book for projects
• Understand work planning and manage design process to the available hours in work plan
• Understand both constant and variable flow systems, and properly apply equipment

What your experience looks like

• 4+ years in designing HVAC systems for Aviation, Transit and Commercial Building projects or recent graduate with internship experience in the HVAC field for construction projects, including HVAC, piping, and plumbing.
• AnEngineering Bachelor’s degree specializing in HVAC/Mechanical Engineering
• Auto CAD, REVIT MEP familiar
• Good Written and verbal communication
• EIT Certification is desired working towards PE.
