Job summary

Schuler Gruppe in Canton is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and test all aspects of mechanical equipment, provide basic technical support, and respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or onsite visits.

You will work with CAD (Catia V6) to create 2D and 3D drawings, assemble BOMs in SAP, perform engineering calculations, and develop control systems. Travel 20-30%; a Bachelor’s is required, Master’s preferred; German skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required; Master’s degree preferred.
• Five years of related experience preferred.
• Proficient CAD skills and ability to create 2D/3D drawings; Catia experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs products such as engines, machines, instruments, controls, or robots.
• Works with a design team to create design sketches, layouts, and plans.
• Uses CAD software to create preliminary and detailed drawings; produce 2D/3D drawings in Catia V6.
• Creates and modifies bill of materials in SAP.
• Provides engineering calculations for mechanical systems and on-site inspections.

Mechanical Engineer

Brief Description

• The Mechanical Engineer will design and test allaspects of mechanical equipment and machinery. Providebasic technical support and troubleshooting for machineryand equipment, respond to customer inquiries and resolvesimple issues via phone, email, or onsite visits. Assistin routine maintenance tasks, equipment inspections andtroubleshooting. Escalate complex issues to higher-levelengineers or specialists as necessary.
• Medium knowledge of CAD systems - able to create 2Dand 3D drawings. Good knowledge of material science,manufacturing processes and engineering calculations.Basic knowledge of machinery design and globalstandards.

Key Responsibilities

• Designs products such as engines, machines,instruments, controls, or robots.

• Uses computer-assisted design (CAD) software tocreate preliminary and detailed drawings of the product.Create 2D and 3D drawings in Catia V6
• Produces specifications for products and chooses rawmaterials and components to be used in production.
• Builds models and prototypes of the product and teststhe design.
• Studies the test data and makes comparisons withsimilar designs.
• Develops control systems and monitorsproduction.

• Provide engineering calculations for Mechanicalsystems

Job Specific Competencies

• Basic understanding of machinery and equipment.
• Excellent mechanical and technical skills.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlookand PowerPoint)
• Proficient with computer-assisted design (CAD)software. Prefer Catia experience.
• Proficient computer skills with the ability to learnnew software

Education and Professional Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required;Master’s degree preferred.
• Five (5) years of related experience preferred.
