Job description

Ambrosia Energy is on a mission to make solar + battery systems the fastest-to-deploy and most cost-effective energy source in the US and beyond. As global energy demand surges—driven by the rapid rise of data centers, electric vehicles, and future in-home robotics—the world stands at a critical energy inflection point. To meet this challenge, we need innovative, scalable power sources. Our engineering-led team, with expertise in designing and deploying satellite constellations (Swarm, Starlink Mobile), is now focused on energy on Earth. We're developing affordable, clean energy solutions with new battery storage systems. United by strong team camaraderie, we prioritize speed, rapid iteration, vertical integration, and a test-like-you-fly approach. We're committed to making an impact on the future of energy.

Role

We are designing and developing a distributed battery storage system to pair with solar panels that are quick and easy to install. The system is simple, robust, reliable, and easy to manufacture at scale. The system will include highly efficient DC-DC conversion, solar MPPT, power distribution, no moving parts, and efficient cable management to make everything plug and play in the field.

Responsibilities
  • Own the design, development, build, and implementation of custom equipment for testing battery components. This includes mechanical design, thermal system design.
  • Work with a cross-discipline team including electrical, mechanical, controls and software engineers to develop integrated test systems.
  • Collaborate with production personnel, engineering teams, and leadership to advance the factory as required to meet rate, development and reliability goals.
  • Solve complex, open-ended problems with an emphasis on speed of execution and efficiency.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, or other engineering discipline.
Preferred Skills or Experience
  • Experience with CAD software design package (e.g. Solidworks, NX, CATIA, or ProE).
  • Experience with custom machine design; electromechanical systems, motors, lifting/rigging, etc.
  • Experience with manufacturing process development, facility/line layouts and common inspection methods.
  • Experience with production tooling or product design in either prototype or high-volume environments.
  • Experience designing mechanisms, welded structures and mass efficient structures.
  • Strong understanding and application of drafting standards and GD&T (ASME Y14.5) in creating drawings.
  • Familiarity with mechanical engineering concepts, ability to read drawings.

In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire. The company is unable to sponsor employment visas at this time.
