Job summary

ITW Hartness is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Technician – Field Support to assemble, read blueprints, apply mechanical and electrical skills, and use basic hand tools in a fast-paced production environment. This on-site role in Greenville will also involve travel to customer sites for Field Support.

You will work safely, meet production schedules, and build practical knowledge of Field Service activities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 1-3 Years of Mechanical & Electrical Experience.
• Display genuine interest in helping the customer and solving their problems.
• Strong work ethic, drive to succeed, customer service orientation as well as strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Expected to provide daily reports when supporting field activities and submit expense reports in accordance with ITW Hartness Travel Policy.

Responsibilities

• Understand equipment assembly functions.
• Read and utilize calipers and a multimeter.
• Understand basic electricity and cable sizes.
• Read and understand blueprints, electrical symbols, and electrical schematics.
• Understand the inner workings of pneumatic valves.
• Troubleshoot and find root causes, think logically about solutions.
• Diagnose issues with machine diagnostics, functionality, and testing.
• Possess multitasking capability to identify and execute priority tasks.
• Utilize electrical tooling such as strippers, crimpers, and torque wrenches.
• Have basic understanding of AC/DC circuits and Ohm’s Law.
• Provide excellent customer service during field visits and align workflow with schedules for efficiency.
• Make appropriate recommendations and use field automation systems and protocols.
• Travel up to 20%-25% with a valid Driver’s License and ability to travel by air when required.

Summary:

ITW Hartness is looking for aMechanical/ElectricalTechnician – Field Support with strong ability to assemble, read blueprints, apply mechanical and electrical skills, and use basic hand tools in a production environment. You will need to work safely in a fast-paced team environment and meet the production schedule while producing quality work.The Field Support role is designed to build practical knowledge of Field Service activities and can be a pipeline for future Field Service opportunities. This role will work on site in our Greenville location as well as travel to customer sites for Field Support.

Primary Responsibilities:

• You must be able to understandequipmentassemblyfunctions

• Must be able to read and utilize calipersand a multimeter

• Understanding of basic electricity and cable sizes

• Must be able to read and understand blueprints, electrical symbols, and electrical schematics

• Understand the inner working of pneumatic values

• Ability to troubleshoot and find the root cause of issues as well as think logically about solutions

• Aptitude with machine diagnostics, functionality, and equipment testing

• Critical thinking skills to diagnose problems and repairissues in an effective manner

• Multitasking capability withability to identify and execute priority tasks

• Ability to utilize an array of electrical tooling; such as strippers, crimpers, and terminal torque wrenches

• Basic understanding of AC/DC circuits andOhm’s Law

• Provide excellent customer service and support during field visits, and tie workflow to schedules to ensure maximum efficiency.

• Satisfy customer needs by making appropriate recommendations and using appropriate field automation systems, procedures, and protocols.

• Capable, willing, and interested in traveling up 20%-25% with a valid Driver’s License, which includes commercial air travel .
