Job summary

Clark Dietz, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Intern to support engineers in designing building systems, including power distribution, lighting, HVAC, fire protection, and plumbing.

You will gain hands-on experience on real projects within a collaborative team environment. Interns participate in group activities to learn about the engineering profession, technical areas, and career paths, with guidance from an Intern Mentor Pod and senior staff.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student pursuing Mechanical, Electrical, or Architectural Engineering.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
• Capable of basic calculations to compute quantities, verify measurements, and analyze data.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with guidance from staff.
• Good communication and listening skills; willing to learn and ask questions.
• Experience with AutoCad MEP, Revit, SKM Powertools, Trane Trace, and MS Office is preferred.

Internship Overview

Clark Dietz internships provide a great opportunity to apply academic learning to real world engineering projects through hands on experience. Interns also participate in group activities throughout the summer to learn about the engineering profession, technical areas, and career paths.

As a Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Intern, you will assist engineers with design of mechanical and electrical building systems including low and medium voltage power distribution, lighting, HVAC, fire protection and plumbing.

Requirements

• Students with a declared major in Mechanical, Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an interest/emphasis on building systems are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and documents and research specifications and codes as needed.
• Ability to perform basic calculations to compute quantities, verify measurements, and organize and analyze data.
• Good organizational skills with strong attention to detail and a willingness to perform a variety of tasks with guidance from other staff.
• Good communication and listening skills with the ability to ask insightful questions and learn and apply new skills.
• Previous experience with AutoCad MEP, Revit, SKM Powertools, Trane Trace.is desired. Proficiency with MS Office (Excel & Word) is required.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle for commuting to project sites is required.

Salary Description

$20 to $26 per hour
