Job summary

RESPEC seeks a Mechanical EIT to join our Anchorage, AK office. The role centers on designing heating, ventilating, and plumbing systems for new facilities and renovations in collaboration with architects, civil, structural, electrical, and fire protection engineers.

You will assist engineers in calculations, code review, and construction administration, gaining broad exposure to project delivery and professional development within a 100% employee-owned company.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Motivated, energetic and eager to learn.
• Strong teamwork and organizational skills.
• Valid driver's license for field-related travel.
• FE certification or ability to acquire within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers with calculations and design tasks.
• Support code review, research, and design development.
• Contribute to Construction Administration activities.

Job Description

RESPEC seeks a Mechanical EIT (Engineer in Training) to join our Anchorage, AK office.

The Mechanical EIT’s primary focus is on design of heating, ventilating, and plumbing for facilities supporting new construction and renovations in collaboration with architects, civil, structural, electrical, and fire protection engineers. Duties may also include observation and inspection of facility and utility projects. This is a great career opportunity for a dynamic, energetic individual looking to grow in their profession.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist Engineers in calculations.
• Assist Engineers in code review and research.
• Assist Engineers in design and Construction Administration (CA).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Solid knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Teams.
• Motivated, energetic, and a desire to take on new tasks.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
• Detail oriented & well organized.
• Desire to learn and advance in technical skills and understanding.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business‑related travel.

Preferred qualifications:

• FE certification or ability to acquire with 6 months.

Additional Preferred Experience/Skills

• AutoCAD experience.
• Experience with construction.
• Knowledge of heat and cooling load calculations, and cost estimating.
• Experience with preparing plans, specifications, and design calculations.
