Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Drafter to create design drawings from layouts and models for manufacturing purposes. You will support CAD Designers by preparing working drawings for basic shelters and mechanical and electrical modifications, including rack installations, ECU installations, entry panel installations, lighting, power distribution, and other ancillary items.

The role requires proficiency in drafting, GD&T, and 2D CAD; a minimum of two years of post-schooling drafting experience;

• Two years of post-schooling drafting experience.
• Experience with large assemblies, hundreds or thousands of parts.

Mechanical Drafter

As a Mechanical Drafter, you will create design drawings from layouts, models, and other information for manufacturing purposes. This role supports CAD Designers by preparing working drawings for basic shelters and mechanical and electrical modifications, including rack installations, ECU installations, entry panel installations, lighting, power distribution, and other ancillary items. You will be expected to meet CAD schedules and adhere to budget constraints.

Responsibilities

• Create design drawings for manufacturing using design layouts, models, and other information.


• Support CAD Designers by generating working drawings for various modifications such as rack installations and power distribution.


• Meet established CAD schedules and budget requirements.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in drafting, GD&T, and either Inventor or SolidWorks 2D.


• At least 2 years of post-schooling experience in drafting.


• Experience with large assemblies, ideally involving hundreds or thousands of parts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2 years of technical training or equivalent experience.


• Proficiency in 2D CAD.


• Fact-finding and analytical skills to gather necessary information.


• Preferred experience with NX or Inventor.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility with a casual work environment where jeans are acceptable. You will work in a cubicle but will have the opportunity to go onto the floor to see your designs come to life.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Dallastown, PA.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
