• 1+ years’ experience as a Mechanical Drafter preferred.
• Knowledge of Solidworks a plus.
• Drafting experience in HVAC and Fire Protection systems preferred.

The Mechanical Drafter’s primary function is to use computer-aided drafting software and manual tools to develop mechanical drawings that meet engineering specifications.

Job Duties:

• Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, tool & dies and controls using computer assisted drafting (CAD) equipment
• Produce detailed drawings for parts, assemblies, and weldments
• Make any necessary changes to existing models or drawings
• Transforms initial rough product designs or sketches into working models and documents
• Entering and maintaining engineering data for all physical parts per company and industry standards
• Create BOM’s in excel as per drawings
• Online research for specifications on purchased parts
• Collaborate with engineers to help develop concept drawings and details
• Modify designs based on comments and reviews from management and clients
• Assist engineer/designer with documentation of sheet metal products
• Ensure all layouts and designs are compliant with industry codes and standards
• Work collaboratively with sheet metal, production, welding, engineering, and assembly departments.
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to work 5 days a week 8am-5pm. (not a remote position)
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Must be able to work independently and part of a team
• Adaptability to work efficiently and effectively daily under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to use measurement tools such as calipers
• Excellent technical skills – AutoCAD proficiency
• Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Strong creative design, problem solving, critical thinking and attention to detail
• Knowledge of Solidworks a plus

Physical Requirements – Essential

• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, push, pull, twist, and turn for long periods of time (Varied based on daily tasks)
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs
• Occasional lifting of items weighing up to 25 lbs such as files, stacks of paper, and other materials
• Strength, dexterity, coordination, and vision to use keyboard and computer monitor for prolonged periods of time
