Position Summary

The Mechanical/Dimensional Inspector I performs routine mechanical inspections based on technical documentation, using established methods to assess product acceptability.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Review inspection data to ensure component integrity and investigate discrepancies.
• Operate inspection programs, load components into equipment, and report results.
• Identify features for inspection and assign dimensional values and tolerances as per drawings.
• Maintain regular on-site attendance and punctuality.
• Work in other areas or facilities as needed.
• Work overtime or alternate shifts if required.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Education/Experience & Skills

• High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
• Basic blueprint reading skills.
• Understanding of GD&T symbols per ASME Y14.5.
• Experience with simple parts setup and use of mechanical inspection tools.
• Clear communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Contribute to inspection tasks with provided training.
• Strong time management skills.
• Effective communication with supervision regarding issues and corrective actions.
• Participate in 5S workplace organization and maintain a clean work area.

Working Conditions

• Perform repetitive tasks primarily standing (over 90%).
• Shifts of 8, 10, or 12 hours.
• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to standing, sitting, stooping, walking, stair climbing, and lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, and repetitive motions.
• Proficient in fine motor skills and tool handling.
• Visual requirements include near, far, peripheral, and depth perception.
• Wear PPE as required and follow EH&S protocols.
