Job summary

Actalent seeks a Mechanical Designer to design custom equipment and mechanical systems from concept to production. You will create detailed SolidWorks drawings, develop 3D models, and support manufacturing to ensure production-ready designs.

Qualifications include either an Associate in Drafting & Design or a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering, with 2+ years SolidWorks experience preferred for Designer II. This is an onsite role in York, NE with competitive pay and benefits.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed production, fabrication, and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
• Develop and modify 3D models for custom equipment and mechanical systems.
• Generate and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) within the ERP system.
• Manage CAD files, revisions, and documentation through SolidWorks PDM/Vault.
• Process Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and maintain accurate design records.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and procurement teams throughout project execution.
• Support production teams by answering technical questions and resolving drawing-related issues.
• Visit the manufacturing floor to verify designs, review equipment builds, and troubleshoot production concerns.
• Utilize AutoCAD as needed to support project requirements.
