Job summary

Stantec in Chicago is seeking a Mechanical Designer to begin a career as a Designer in the structural engineering group. The role focuses on delivering project deliverables that meet standards and performing basic technical tasks.

You will work with a technical staff team to develop design documents and reports, apply basic engineering concepts for structural design, and use REVIT and CAD to prepare deliverables, under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of technical staff to develop project deliverables from design documents to technical reports.
• Apply knowledge of basic engineering concepts for structural design, analysis, and investigation.
• Coordinate tasks with other teams across the firm and with outside sources.
• Assist project engineer with more advanced technical activities.
• Use REVIT and CAD to prepare project deliverables and production tasks as directed by senior staff.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Works with a team of technical staff to develop project deliverables ranging from design documents to technical reports.
• Applies knowledge of basic engineering concepts, principles, practices, and procedures for structural design, analysis, and investigation.
• Coordinates tasks with other teams across the firm and outside sources.
• Assists project engineer with more advanced technical activities.
• Uses appropriate technology and software (i.e. REVIT and CAD among others) to prepare project deliverables and production tasks assigned by senior project engineer or project manager.""
