Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking an experienced mechanical designer for HVAC and plumbing design in New Brighton, MN. You will work closely with project managers, professional engineers, and electrical designers on diverse projects, including renovations and new construction. Revit proficiency is required; AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Job description

Highly decorated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Firm is seeking an experienced mechanical designer to add to the team. Designer will be working on both HVAC and plumbing design for a mix of projects from roof replacements, to HVAC system replacements in occupied buildings, to design for new construction. Designer will be working closely with the in-house project managers, professional engineers, and electrical designers. Designer will be required to visit job sites on occasion (typically within the state of Minnesota). Typical design responsibilities include: performing load calculations, sizing mechanical equipment, ductwork sizing/design, plumbing sizing/design, specification editing, drawing setup and creation, and shop drawing review.

Candidates need between 4 and 10 years experience with HVAC and/or plumbing design. Candidate must be competent with Autodesk Revit software. Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD software appreciated. The position will be fully in person at our office in New Brighton, MN with no remote work. This will be a full time (40hrs per week) position.
