  • Ensure that all designs meet MIL-STD requirements, including shock and vibration testing, ingress protection, and environmental testing.
  • Utilize 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks, to create detailed designs and perform design analysis.
  • Perform design for manufacturing and assembly (DFMA) analyses to optimize designs for production and reduce costs.
  • Create detailed engineering drawings, bills of materials, and other documentation required for production.
  • Support component manufacturing and procurement
  • Participate in design reviews, testing, and validation activities, which may be at customer office or test sites
  • Must be able to lift and carry equipment in support of transit deployment
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in military enclosure design and thermal management.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on developing enclosures and packages for military systems.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
  • Familiarity with MIL-STD requirements, including shock and vibration testing, ingress protection, EMI, and environmental testing.
  • Understand design practices for various material types (metals, plastics, composites, etc.)
  • Experience with DFMA analyses and design for manufacturing and assembly.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a US Citizen with ability to obtain a security clearance

Desired Qualifications and Skills:

  • Design experience for embedded computing and RF equipment
  • Understanding of and experience integrating with electrical CAD software, such as Altium
  • Strong knowledge in heat transfer and thermal energy dissipation
