Job summary

SOGECLAIR in Tucson, AZ, is seeking an experienced Mechanical/Aerospace Engineer to lead interior and structural modification documentation for aircraft projects, including detailed drawings, specs and substantiation reports.

You will collaborate with suppliers, internal teams and regulators to ensure design, installation, integration and certification of new interior components, and support SOW creation and bids.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with five years relevant experience or ten years in aviation mechanical design

Responsibilities

  • Prepare documents to support interior and structural aircraft modifications (drawings, specs, substantiation reports)
  • Coordinate design, installation, integration and certification with suppliers, internal teams and regulators
  • Research component specifications and coordinate with suppliers to meet requirements
  • Support SOW creation and bids for new customer requests
  • Assist service centers with investigation, troubleshooting and resolution of build/modification issues

Job description

Prepare all necessary documents to support the interior and structural modification of the aircraft such as detail, assembly and installation drawings, specification documents and substantiation reports

Coordinate with outside suppliers, internal departments and regulatory agencies regarding the design, installation, integration, and certification of new interior components to support floorplan modifications

Research specification for component selection. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure specifications are met

Support statement of work creation and bids for new customer requests

Assist service center personnel in investigating, troubleshooting, and resolution of build/modification and test issues and create deviation drawings as required

Work in a team environment

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

Requirements

YOUR PROFILE IS ESSENTIAL TO OUR SUCCESS

  • You will hold aBachelor of Science Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent with five (5) years relevant experience or will have a minimum of ten (10) years of practical mechanical design experience in aviation
  • You are proficient creating mechanical drawings using AutoCad or CATIA (preferred)
  • You will have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory certification rules (FAA, EASA, TCCA)
  • You will be proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, Access)
  • You must be a self-starter and able to handle multiple initiatives effectively
  • You must exhibit excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
  • You should be an organized individual, able to work effectively with a variety of cross-functional individuals, departments and organizations with a general good attitude and disposition
