Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Lafayette, LA, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Designer to collaborate on impactful institutional projects. You will design HVAC systems and produce high-quality construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit. Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of experience in HVAC design and construction.
• Solid understanding of duct design, piping design, and air handlers.
• Knowledge of CBC, CMC, CPC codes, and Title 24.
• Knowledge of CBC, CMC and CPC codes, DDC controls, Title 24, HAP or Energy Pro.
• Must have strong verbal and written communications skills in design and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Design Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning Systems for various facilities.
• Produce mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD and Revit.
• Perform field investigations and coordinate quality control.
• Coordinate quality control, scheduling, and programming.
• Coordinate and communicate information and progress with MEP team.

Job Summary

As a Mechanical Engineer/Designer, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic, multi‑disciplinary team to design innovative building systems and deliver high‑quality construction documents for impactful institutional projects across diverse markets. In this role you will design HVAC systems for a wide range of buildings, including K-12 schools, retail/mixed-use spaces, hospitals, and commercial office spaces.

Responsibilities Include

• Design Heating, Ventilating & Air Conditioning Systems for various types of facilities
• Produce mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD and/or Revit software
• Perform field investigations
• Coordinate quality control, scheduling, and programming
• Coordinate and communicate information and progress with MEP team

You will be a great fit if you have

• A demonstrated facilitation experience
• 3 to 5 years of experience in HVAC design and construction
• A solid understanding of duct design, piping design, air handlers, chiller, and boiler systems
• Experience with performing load calculations, equipment selection and design, wet and dry side system design
• Knowledge of CBC, CMC and CPC codes, DDC controls, Title 24, HAP or Energy Pro
