Job summary

Metropolitan Industries in Romeoville, Illinois is seeking an entry level Mechanical Draftsman. You'll create computer-aided designs and collaborate with various departments to ensure high-quality output.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, have strong technical aptitude and attention to detail, and be eager to learn. Knowledge of Revit and additional experience in electrical and HVAC systems are a plus.

Qualifications

Metropolitan Industries, Inc. is a multiple market sales and service organization in the water & wastewater markets both locally and on a national basis. We are a 70‑year‑old company located in Romeoville, Illinois a suburb of Chicago. We provide technical sales expertise, engineering, and end‑user service to municipal and commercial customers in Illinois and across the country. We are currently looking for an entry level Mechanical Draftsman.

Description

• Ability to visualize 3D objects including mechanical, electrical, and structural systems
• Ability to perform a variety of tasks, work with a deadline
• Capable of creating computer‑aided design by taking project information and interpreting it into a submittal or fabrication drawings
• Collaborate and establish a good working relationship with multiple departments to deliver the highest quality designs
• Provide technical support for field technicians
• Eagerness for continued on‑the‑job learning about the products, systems, and miscellaneous related tasks that a small company requires
