Job summary

Aalo Atomics is seeking a skilled Mechanical Designer / Draftsman to develop precise 2D and 3D drawings for advanced nuclear reactor systems. You will use Siemens NX and GD&T to create manufacturable designs and support cross-functional teams throughout design iterations.

Based in the United States, you will work on-site in Austin, TX and Idaho Falls, ID. A strong attention to detail and experience with ASME Y14.5 GD&T are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a mechanical designer or draftsman in a technical or engineering environment.
• Strong proficiency in Siemens NX drafting and modeling tools.
• Solid understanding of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
• Experience with mechanical component and assembly design.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality, accurate drawings.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain precise 2D and 3D CAD drawings using Siemens NX.
• Develop technical drawings that comply with ASME Y14.5 standards, including detailed GD&T.
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers and cross-functional teams to transform concepts into manufacturable and testable designs.
• Maintain drawing packages through multiple design iterations and ensure design intent is accurately captured.
• Support the documentation and configuration management of all design materials.
• Participate in design reviews and contribute to process and quality improvements.

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled Mechanical Designer / Draftsman with expertise in Siemens NX (or similar) and a deep understanding of ASME Y14.5 Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing standards. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing detailed drawings and mechanical designs that are critical to the development of our advanced nuclear reactor systems. We are not looking for mechanical engineers to fill this position.

• Experience supporting regulated design environments with high safety and quality standards
