Our products support some of the world’s most advanced manufacturing technologies where precision, quality, and reliability are critical.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Designer Drafter to join our Design team. This position is responsible for developing 3D models, fabrication drawings, tooling designs, and engineering documentation that support both new product development and ongoing manufacturing operations.

The ideal candidate enjoys solving design challenges, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and transforming concepts into accurate, manufacturable designs that support world-class manufacturing.

This position description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this role. Duties, responsibilities, and qualifications may be adjusted as business needs evolve.

What You'll Do
Product Design & Development
  • Develop concepts and create detailed 3D models using Autodesk Inventor.
  • Produce engineering drawings and documentation for new products and product enhancements.
  • Design fabrication fixtures, tooling, and manufacturing aids for new and existing products.
  • Ensure designs meet customer requirements, functional objectives, and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Support new product development from concept through production release.
Drafting & Documentation
  • Create detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Produce engineering documentation that supports manufacturing, quality, installation, and customer requirements.
  • Maintain drawing accuracy and configuration control in accordance with company standards.
  • Process engineering revisions and design updates through established change management procedures.
  • Work with both metric and U.S. customary measurement systems.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Engineering, Test Engineering, Quality, Production, Installation, and Project Management teams.
  • Support first-time builds and product launches by providing design assistance and resolving technical issues.
  • Assist manufacturing teams in resolving production-related design concerns.
  • Incorporate customer feedback and field observations into design improvements.
  • Participate in design reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve manufacturability, efficiency, quality, and cost effectiveness.
  • Support development of standardized drawing practices and design processes.
  • Assist with special projects and engineering initiatives as assigned.
  • Contribute to a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
Required Qualifications
  • Approximately three (3) years of mechanical design experience using Autodesk Inventor 2018 or newer.
  • Approximately three (3) years of 2D drafting experience using AutoCAD.
  • Experience creating complete engineering documentation, including fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Experience working with engineering change management systems.
  • Ability to work effectively with both metric and U.S. customary units.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Experience designing for a metal fabrication environment, including knowledge of welding processes and welding symbols.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of machining practices, surface finishes, and GD&T principles.
  • Previous hands-on fabrication or manufacturing experience.
  • Experience supporting custom-engineered or low-volume manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor, industrial equipment, or precision manufacturing industries.
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Professional office environment supporting a fast-paced manufacturing operation.
  • Regular collaboration with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Project Management teams.
  • Occasional visits to the manufacturing floor where required PPE must be worn.
  • This is primarily an onsite position; limited remote work may be approved as business needs require.
  • Occasional overtime may be required to support project deadlines and production schedules.
