Job summary

Apogee Consulting Group, a healthcare-focused Architecture and Engineering firm, seeks a Mechanical Designer in Raleigh, NC to design and draft MEP systems. You will work with engineers across disciplines to develop feasible concepts and produce construction documents using Revit.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Engineering (ABET-accredited), 4+ years of mechanical design experience, and FE exam progress toward PE licensure. Travel up to 20% is expected.

Qualifications

• Healthcare experience is required.
• ABET-accredited Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• FE exam completed and working toward PE licensure (Preferred).
• 4+ years as a mechanical designer.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD MEP, MS Office Suite, Trane TOPSS, Trace 3D.
• Travel up to 20% depending on project.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft mechanical and plumbing systems including ductwork, piping, sanitary systems, domestic water, medical gas, compressed air, natural gas, and water heating systems.
• Collaborate with engineers to develop and evaluate design concepts.
• Assess feasibility of design ideas based on safety, function, and serviceability.
• Create detailed drawings, blueprints, and sketches using Revit software.
• Develop construction documents and coordinate intermittent submissions.
• Work closely with other disciplines to ensure cohesive design integration.
• Conduct field investigations and site visits.
• Determine optimal routing and sizing of systems.
• High proficiency in computer-aided design tools and software.

Key Responsibility and Expertise

• Experience: 4+ years as a mechanical designer
• Computer Skills: Revit, AutoCAD MEP, AutoCAD MEP, MS Office Suite, Trane TOPSS, Trace 3D
• Travel: up to 20% depending on project
