Job summary

Entegee is seeking a senior aerospace designer to participate in creating virtual solid models from component design to full assembly. You will translate requirements into precise 3-D CAD models and collaborate with engineering to ensure manufacturability and reliability.

You will generate tolerance analyses, contribute to multi-disciplinary teams, and report progress while upholding AS9100 quality standards.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of design experience in the aviation industry.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Excel or other MS applications.
  • Willing to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations (Alaska, Hawaii, UK and Europe).
  • Must be able to work outside and on top of aircraft.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create virtual solid models of new products and modifications from component design to full assembly.
  • Interface with Engineering to document design requirements, specifications and schedules, and design for manufacturability, reliability and maintainability applying MIL-SPEC, FAA and best commercial practices.
  • Create 3-D CAD models for components and assemblies, with tolerance analysis and mass property checks to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary, integrated project teams representing the Design Group in team activities and decisions.
  • Communicate progress to management while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and company policies and objectives.

Job description

  • Participating in the design and creation of virtual solid models of new products, modifications and upgrades to existing designs, from detailed component design to full assembly.
  • Interface as necessary with Engineering to document and detail design requirements, specifications and schedules, and design for manufacturability, reliability and maintainability applying MIL-SPEC, FAA and best commercial practices.
  • Create 3-D CAD models for individual components, systems and assemblies, while generating tolerance stack up analysis, mass properties, etc., on component assemblies to ensure proper fit and function.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary, integrated project teams, representing the Design Group for team activities and decisions.
  • Effectively communicate progress on projects to management, while ensuring that all work is done in compliance with Quality Requirements, AS9100, company policies, procedures, goals and objectives.
MUST HAVES:
  • 8+ years’ design experience in the aviation industry
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PowerPoint, Excel and/or other MS applications
  • Potential travel to CONUS (Continental US) and OCONUS (Outside Continental US) locations (Alaska, Hawaii, UK and EUROPE)
  • Must be able to work outside and on top of aircraft.
Preferred:
  • Design experience in aviation structural assembly
  • Experience in aerospace engineering design in both Military and Civil aviation
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and test instrumentation
  • CNC programming experience
