Job summary

Exyte is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Modular Systems team in McKinney, TX. This role involves developing 3D models and construction documents, supporting BIM coordination, and assisting with on-site project activities. You will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and coordinate with trade disciplines.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of mechanical design experience and familiarity with Autodesk software, Revit and Navisworks. An Associate's Degree is preferred.

Exential is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our Modular Systems team in McKinney, TX. In this role, you will work closely with engineers and designers to develop 3D model content and construction documents for piping, ductwork, and cable-tray systems. You will support BIM coordination, assist with field activities, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our modular design and construction processes.

Explore your tasks and responsibilities

• Develop 3D model content and produce construction documents for piping, ductwork, and cable-tray systems.
• Participate in BIM coordination by identifying and resolving model clashes and other interdisciplinary issues.
• Assist with on‑site project activities, including engineering support for modular construction, site assessments, and verification of as‑built conditions.
• Support the project team in determining optimal routing and layout of mechanical systems based on space‑management requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the company.
• Coordinate mechanical system layouts with other trades to ensure alignment and constructability.
• Assist in developing project deliverables in accordance with design documents and Engineer‑of‑Record specifications.
• Support the production of fabrication drawings under the guidance of lead designers and engineers.
• Participate in interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables.
• Assist in performing quality‑control reviews of work produced by others.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED.
