Job summary

Central Moloney in Colborne, ON, is seeking a Design Technician to support the Engineering Department by producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models using CAD software. The role emphasizes accuracy, standards compliance, and collaboration with engineers.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years drafting experience, proficiency in SolidWorks or AutoCAD, and understands mechanical design and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or diploma in Drafting or Mechanical Engineering Technology preferred.
• 1-3 years drafting experience in engineering/manufacturing.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D and 3D drawings and models using CAD software based on engineering specifications.
• Convert sketches, concepts and preliminary designs into engineering drawings.
• Update part and assembly drawings for manufacture based on design changes and feedback.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including BOMs and assembly instructions.
• Prepare manufacturing packages for internal and external vendors.
• Perform quality checks on drawings/models for accuracy and completeness.
• Ensure drawings/models meet GD&T standards.
