Job summary
Queens Carbon in Pine Brook, NJ seeks a Mechanical Design and Process Engineer to join our Systems, R&D, and Process Development teams. You will design, build, and test new systems for cementitious materials and help scale the technology to industrial levels.
You will collaborate with engineers and scientists to develop tools, select materials, and coordinate with vendors, driving safe, efficient, and innovative processes in a fast-growing startup environment.
Qualifications
- BS or MS in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering.
- Minimum 5 years in equipment design and process engineering.
- Experience with gas, solids, and fluids handling.
- Experience with industrial PLC/SCADA systems.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze designs of mechanical components.
- Lead technical reviews for component construction.
- Assess material resistance to erosive and corrosive media.
- Develop process diagrams, equipment sizing, and balance of plant.
- Coordinate with vendors and partners for scale-up.
- Support R&D and scale-up from bench to pilot.
- Integrate equipment under PLC/SCADA data architectures.
