Job summary

DBR is seeking Mechanical Design Interns for multiple Texas-based locations (Houston, San Antonio, and El Paso). The role focuses on supporting engineers in HVAC calculations, ductwork sizing, and construction drawing preparation using AutoCAD and Revit.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering and are eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship. As an intern, you will collaborate with mentors, participate in site visits, and help ensure project

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Architectural Engineering.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
• Familiar with AutoCAD/Revit.
• Ability to communicate and work with others as part of a project team.
• Works well in a fast-paced environment.
• Show a willingness to learn and ask questions.

Responsibilities

• Research building codes and standards for each project where applicable.
• Assist mentor in performing HVAC load calculations utilizing Trane Trace 3D plus or Carrier HAP software.
• Assist mentor in sizing ductwork and piping systems as applicable to each project.
• Assist mentor in preparation of mechanical construction drawings utilizing AutoCAD/Revit.
• Assist mentor with selection and scheduling of mechanical equipment applicable to each project.
• Review design documents with mentor or engineer prior to completion.
• Communicate with internal team members and external project team members as necessary to complete design.
• Attend at least one project site visit throughout the duration of the internship.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
