Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Starship tooling team at our Brownsville facility. You will design, build, and activate production assets to enable rapid assembly and testing of Starship vehicles, collaborating across disciplines to optimize manufacturing processes.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, proficiency with CAD tools (SolidWorks/NX/CATIA/ProE), and hands-on experience with mechanical structures design and analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks, NX, CATIA, or ProE) is required.
• 1+ years of total experience in mechanical structures design, analysis, or related projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and activate custom machinery and infrastructure to enable production of Starship vehicles.
• Develop production tooling concepts to enable rapid build, test, and operation.
• Collaborate with vehicle engineers to influence design and manufacturing processes for higher production rates.
• Create detailed models and engineering prints in NX; perform sizing and hand calculations.
• Prepare manufacturing planning for welding and toolmaking scope; support activation with controls.
