Job description

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Pittsburgh (Cheswick) location.

Your Responsibilities:

Design and analyze electro-mechanical components and systems. Develop drawings and specifications for new and modified designs. Support manufacturing and testing of electro-mechanical equipment.

Your Challenge:

  1. Design and analyze electro-mechanical components and systems. Conduct studies and testing on new and modified designs. Develop design information for use in drawings and specifications.
  2. Provide engineering design, maintenance support, and training for new products and equipment. Assess equipment to optimize design efficiency, safety, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  3. Design and conduct experiments, collect data, interpret results, and write analysis and test reports. Draw conclusions and reconcile differences between predicted and actual results.
  4. Plan, coordinate, and execute engineering activities including documentation, reporting, publishing, and technical presentations.
  5. Design new equipment and machinery. Assist in building, installing, debugging, and testing new equipment to ensure production capabilities.
  6. Determine maintenance schedules, procedures, and safety standards for current and new equipment.
  7. Develop innovative solutions to advance technical engineering problems. Support failure investigations and bid responses.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree a plus.
  • 2-10 years of experience in manufacturing and design of engineered products.
  • Experience with rotating equipment and machine designs (motors, pumps, generators, propulsors).
  • Knowledge of GD&T, CAD, CAE, FEA.
  • Ability to create models and drawings, present reviews, perform trade studies, and coordinate multiple projects. Proficient in MS Office.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to perform analysis in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a sole US citizen and able to obtain/maintain DOD security clearance.
