Job summary

Ingersoll Rand in Bentleyville, PA is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for Design Development to own rotating equipment design and development. You will support Nash/MD Kinney legacy pumps and compressors, manage engineering data, lead design improvements, and collaborate across Manufacturing, Quality, and Product Management.

The role offers growth, ownership, and diverse project exposure. The position emphasizes independent ownership, cross-functional teamwork, and strong mechanical fundamentals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 3+ years of experience in rotating equipment design or related fields.
• 2+ years experience using SAP ERP system.
• 2+ years experience with manufacturing processes including machining, casting, fabrication, assembly, and rotating equipment design principles.
• 1+ year of experience using 3D CAD software, ideally Autodesk Inventor.

Responsibilities

• Support liquid-ring vacuum pump and compressor product lines through engineering, design improvements, performance evaluation, and documentation.
• Develop and maintain product knowledge across configurations, components, and legacy platforms.
• Execute design and development activities from concept through prototype support, validation, and release.
• Improve product designs for performance, reliability, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
• Create and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
• Prepare and implement ECRs/ECNs, drawing revisions, BOM updates, and product data changes.
• Analyze test results and field data to drive troubleshooting and design improvements.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Sourcing, Customer Service, Sales, and Product Management.
