Job summary

UNISIG is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to work with engineering, machinists, assemblers, and programmers to design precision components and assemblies for world-class manufacturing equipment. You will prepare BOMs and detailed 3D models using up-to-date software in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

The role emphasizes design for manufacturability, attention to detail, and collaboration across teams. BSMe preferred; relocation not available.

Qualifications

• BSME preferred; associate degree with relevant experience considered.
• SolidWorks experience preferred; training possible for other CAD backgrounds.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with understanding of machine shop practices.
• Experience in power transmission design, hydraulics, automation, fixture design, bearing and screws.
• Detail-oriented, self-directed, with clear written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Generate cost-effective and simple-to-manufacture concepts.
• Translate concepts into fully detailed, functioning designs.
• Select power transmission, motion control, and purchased components.
• Prepare detailed drawings and BOMs for production.
• Understand tolerancing, geometric tolerances, and drafting practices.
• Manage time effectively to deliver projects on schedule.
