Unisig is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to produce high-precision components for machine tools and automation. Work is in a bright, temperature-controlled environment using updated equipment and technology.

The role requires 3+ years in complex CNC setups, ability to read drawings, and proficiency with Okuma, Heidenhain, or Fanuc controls. Candidates should be self-motivated, detail-focused, and able to work overtime if needed.

CNC Machinist - Experienced in precision machining

POSITION SUMMARY

The experienced CNC Machinist will produce a variety of high precision, high-quality components required for our machine tools and automation products. This work, conducted in a bright, temperature-controlled environment, utilizes updated equipment and the most up-to-date technology.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Plans and completes setups from detailed manufacturing drawings
• Sets up and operates CNC equipment in a short run, close tolerance (.0005”) environment
• Able to read and interpret CAM posted G and M code and modify as needed on a variety of machine controls
• Selects appropriate tooling based on materials and tolerances
• Operates machines to produce high precision, low volume parts, calculating proper SFM and feeds.
• Safely operates overhead cranes and large part handling (up to 16,000#)
• Inspect work to ensure proper specifications and very close tolerances are met
• Communicates with others in the department to coordinate downstream operations of specialized parts
• Remains current with manufacturing technologies available to improve productivity (tooling, workholding, programming, workflows, etc.)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• 3+ years experience with complex, close tolerance setup and operation of CNC machinesin a job shop/manufacturing environment; minimum of high school diploma or equivalent
• Demonstrated high productivity through the use of good planning and technology
• Attention to detail and a desire to maintain high standards of workmanship
• Working knowledge of Okuma, Heidenhain, and/or Fanuc controls and machine operation
• Possesses own hand tools and daily use quality inspection tools

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS

• Regularly lifts up to 20 pounds unassisted. Regularly uses overhead cranes for lifts greater than 20 pounds.
• Regularly stands for 8 hours
• Regularly bends, stoops, reaches, climbs, and moves.
Regularly exerts up to 10 pounds of force and frequently exerts up to 25 pounds of force to move objects.
• The work environment is bright and temperature-controlled.
• The nature of the work involves contact with various metals and oils.
