Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design components for distribution transformers and related products, collaborating with sales, supply chain and manufacturing for seamless execution.

Requirements: Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 2+ years in the power industry (transformer experience preferred). Proficiency in CREO, 3D modeling, simulations and FEA; familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, UL, CSA; strong design-to-cost understanding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of design engineering experience in the power industry; transformer experience preferred.
• Proficient in CREO, 3D modeling, simulations, and finite element analysis.
• Familiarity with IEEE, ANSI, NEMA, UL, CSA standards.
• Strong understanding of design-to-cost and design-to-manufacturing principles.
• Proficient in MS Office; SAP experience is a plus.
