Job summary

Paradromics, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Product Development team.

You will provide dedicated mechanical design support across product development, testing and manufacturing, designing tooling, fixtures and components using SolidWorks, from concept to CAD drawings and fabrication. You will collaborate with engineers, technicians, manufacturing teams and suppliers to develop reliable, manufacturable solutions that advance our brain-computer interface

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2–6 years of professional mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD software.
• Experience with complex part modeling, assemblies and drawings.
• Knowledge of GD&T and design-for-manufacturability (DFM).
• Ability to manage multiple design projects and deliver manufacturable designs on schedule.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across engineering, manufacturing and supplier teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, tooling and fixtures to support product development, testing, manufacturing and general engineering activities.
• Own mechanical design projects from initial requirements through CAD modeling, drawings, fabrication and implementation.
• Create and maintain accurate SolidWorks models, assemblies and drawings with GD&T and DFM.
• Translate requirements into practical mechanical designs meeting functional, dimensional and manufacturing needs.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, fabricators, manufacturers and suppliers to select materials and fabrication methods.
• Design fixtures and tooling to improve repeatability and efficiency across development and manufacturing workflows.
• Evaluate prototypes and parts, identify design issues, and iterate via testing and feedback.
• Manage multiple projects with competing priorities and deliver on schedule.
• Build and maintain knowledge of existing designs and capabilities to improve continuity.
• Support continuous improvement of mechanical design practices, documentation and workflows.
