Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 4 for our Ocean Springs, MS site to develop launcher hardware for Navy platforms. You will create concepts, build solid models, and support the full design lifecycle to meet cost, schedule, and performance targets.

Qualifications include a BS in a STEM field with 8 years (MS 6 years; PhD 3 years), CAD proficiency (NX/CREO/SolidWorks), US citizenship, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline with 8 years of relevant work experience; or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 6 years relevant work experience; or PhD in a STEM discipline with 3 years relevant work experience
  • Experience in machine design and drawing generation
  • Ability to plan tasks and execute to the established schedule
  • US citizenship required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret Clearance
  • Must be onsite 4 days a week; remote work is not an option for this role
  • Preferred: CAD modeling (NX, CREO, SolidWorks, or equivalent)
  • Preferred: ASME Y14.5 GD&T and ASME Y14.100 Dimensioning, Tolerancing, and Engineering Drawing Practices
  • Preferred: Experience leading a team through design development and developing project plans for hybrid teams
  • Strong background in machine design, strength of materials, and materials technology
  • Experience in technical presentation, production support, and working with vendors and suppliers
  • Active US Government Secret clearance

Overview

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer Level 4 to join our team based out of Ocean Springs, MS. The Marine Systems organization, part of Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, is expanding the Launcher Hardware group to support the engineering development of launcher hardware for weapons systems on Navy platforms. The role involves designing concepts, developing solid models, and supporting the full design lifecycle to meet technical, schedule, and cost requirements.

Relocation assistance may be available. Clearance is required for start: Secret. Travel: Yes, up to 10% of the time.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Primary Level Salary Range: $111,700.00 - $167,500.00
  • Salary is a general guideline; base offers depend on scope, responsibilities, experience, education, skills, and market conditions
  • Overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses may apply
