Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a Design Engineer Intern to help design, document, build and test new solutions for assigned industry. You will support design in production, sales, service and troubleshooting to meet customer needs and design goals.

As a current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Agriculture or Electrical Engineering, you will work onsite and collaborate with Engineering Technicians to develop manufacturable, safe and cost-effective solutions using SolidWorks and

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Current student pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Agriculture or Electrical Engineering.
• Previous internship is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and detail purchased items, machining, weld and assembly prints using SolidWorks for manufacturability, cost effectiveness and safety.
• Assist Engineering Technicians with building and testing prototypes.
• Analyze production issues and assist with solutions.
• Calculate unknown loading and directions from data and assumptions.
• Develop bill of materials (BOM).
• Test design changes made by technicians.
