Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in South Bend is hiring a Mechanical Design Engineer II for Wheel and Brakes Structures to perform structural analysis on aircraft wheels and brake assemblies. You will collaborate with teams across sites in the US and abroad to size components, present results, and ensure drawings meet specifications.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and hands-on FEA experience, with familiarity in Python for automating processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering; 2+ years in two listed technical areas.
• Experience with static analysis, structural dynamics, fatigue, NASGRO.
• FEA with ANSYS/ABAQUS/NASTRAN.
• CAD design experience with NX or CATIA.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and size aircraft wheel and brake components and assemblies.
• Present and document analysis results.
• Review and approve aircraft wheel and brake component drawings.
• Witness structural tests and review procedures.
• Improve existing engineering processes by automation through Python and other methods.
