Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer II to join the Wheel and Brakes Structures team in South Bend, IN. You will perform structural analysis on aircraft wheels and brake assemblies through the IPDS process, interfacing with global engineering teams and driving improvements with Python automation.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in engineering and 2+ years in structural analysis, fatigue, NASGRO, and FEM tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (sciences/engineering/math).
• At least 2 years in two or more areas listed under qualifications.
• Master's degree in a relevant concentration may substitute for 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and size aircraft wheel & brake components and assemblies.
• Present and document analysis results.
• Review and approve drawings for wheel & brake components and assemblies.
• Review test procedures and reports; witness structural tests.
• Evaluate manufacturing discrepancies and support service issues.
• Review material failure reports and improve processes by automation.
