Job summary

G&W Electric Co is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer II to design customer-specific switchgear products within our quality standards. You will own the design cycle and lead cross-functional collaboration across product development, manufacturing, and service.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, 3 years in engineering, CAD proficiency, and strong communication. CREO experience and problem-solving skills are preferred; JD Edwards experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from four-year college.
• At least 3 years in a technical engineering role.
• Experience with CAD software; CREO preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with ability to present to diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and own team project communication, schedule, and design cycle for moderately complex projects and customer orders.
• Provide design competency to industry standards (IEEE, NEC, IEC, ANSI, UL, NEMA).
• Mentor and train design team members.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product Development, Aftermarket, Application Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
• Provide technical support for internal and external customers.
