Job summary

Holtec International is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer – Technical Sponsor to support Dry Fuel Storage and Transportation programs in Camden, NJ. You will lead design development, create and review 3D models and 2D drawings, and ensure compliance with codes and project requirements.

The role requires a bachelor’s in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering, 5+ years CAD experience (SolidWorks/AutoCAD), and strong GD&T and technical writing skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of CAD experience developing 3D models and detailed 2D drawings.
  • Knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, AISC, AWS, and/or ACI Code requirements.
  • Experience supporting nuclear industry projects.

Responsibilities

  • Review customer and internal specifications to determine design and technical requirements.
  • Support execution of engineering projects through integrated product development.
  • Review designs for compliance with engineering principles, contractual requirements, and codes.
  • Prepare, review, and approve design changes, specifications, calculations, and drawings.
  • Lead development and review of concept designs and documentation for mechanical equipment and systems.
  • Oversee preparation and review of fabrication drawings for manufacturing.
  • Develop technical specifications, operating manuals, and maintenance documentation.
  • Provide engineering support for manufacturing deviations and fabrication issues.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and project teams for project success.
  • Support QA requirements, schedules, and customer commitments.
  • Mentor design team members and promote timely completion of work.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and engineering best practices.
  • Travel up to 20% as required.
