Job summary

Amphenol Fiber Systems International in Allen, TX is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own new ideas and develop products, drawings and assemblies using SolidWorks. You will work with manufacturing to ensure producibility and support customers.

The role focuses on expanding cable accessory offerings and harness design, with responsibilities from concept through testing, tolerance analysis, design changes, and reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• 3-5 years of related engineering experience.
• U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident to satisfy ITAR requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and blueprints.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize design solutions to given requirements.
• 3-D modeling of new designs in SolidWorks.
• Model interfaces, piece parts and purchased components.
• Analyze drawings for dimensions, tolerances, and drafting standards.
• Create detailed piece part drawings from designs.
• Design tight-tolerance machined and molded parts.
• Create assembly and product drawings.
• Maintain knowledge of GD&T and perform tolerance analyses.
• Lead design reviews and support testing of new products.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to ensure manufacturability.
