Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Mechanical Design Engineer in Huntsville, AL. The role involves designing, analyzing, and implementing mechanical hardware products, with strong emphasis on CAD, GD&T, and ASME standards.

Collaboration with cross‑functional teams and customers is required, along with clear technical reporting. The ideal candidate holds a BS in STEM with 5–10 years of experience, possesses Secret clearance, and can work in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• BS in STEM with 5–10 years related experience; advanced degrees may credit additional experience
• Experience in structural, mechanical and hardware design
• CAD knowledge with engineering drawing development under ASME Y14.100 and Y14.5 GD&T
• MS Office Suite experience
• Ability to conduct research and perform analysis on requirements, capability and operational effects
• Strong analytical, reasoning and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; collaborative teamwork
• Self-motivation with attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement and analyze hardware products
• Apply analytical reasoning to complex design projects
• Conduct research and apply findings to projects
• Develop trade studies, analysis of alternatives and capability analyses
• Support multiple engineering tasks simultaneously
• Collaborate in integrated product and technical teams
• Develop drawings and apply configuration management
• Review documentation to ensure requirements are met
• Present technical reports and recommendations to team and customers
• Interacts with internal/external customers and management
