Job summary

Averro is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established industrial equipment manufacturer focused on custom-engineered pressure, thermal, and mechanical systems. The role emphasizes hands-on design, translating specifications into manufacturable solutions, and close collaboration with manufacturing to bring designs to production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on mechanical design experience with calculations and CAD ownership.
• Ability to translate specifications into manufacturable designs, not just models.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment and on the shop floor.
• Proficiency with SolidWorks or equivalent CAD; FEA experience a plus.
• Experience with pressure, hydraulic/pneumatic, thermal, or industrial mechanical systems preferred.
• Hands-on mindset, curious about hardware, and problem-solving at the component level.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical designs from specification through production release, including calculations and component sizing.
• Translate customer specifications into manufacturable engineering solutions for custom configurations.
• Develop and review drawings, BOMs, and design docs to support fabrication and assembly.
• Collaborate with manufacturing on the shop floor, troubleshoot issues, and drive resolutions.
• Apply hand calculations, FEA, and simulations to validate designs.”
• Select and specify components; verify performance in final system and resolve issues.
• Cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, sales, and procurement to support projects.
