Job summary

APT in Minnesota is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to transform concepts into manufacturable designs. You will develop 3D models, drawings, and docs for equipment used in the Food and Dairy industry, guiding projects from concept through installation and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent years of related experience.
• 3+ years of mechanical design engineering experience.
• Ability to think strategically.
• Proven track record of successful problem solving and design.
• Strong demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask multiple projects.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Travel up to 5%.

Responsibilities

• Develop Bills of Material (BOMs), customer and manufacturing drawings, and other related engineering documents.
• Create 3D models for design, development and reengineering of products.
• Process design and fabrication drawings for a wide range of products from tanks to material handling equipment.
• Coordinate all phases of mechanical engineering projects from concept to project closure.
• Evaluate equipment design for safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Optimize design for cost, quality and manufacturability.
• Research and solve complex technical problems individually or with colleagues.
• Collaborate with clients, electrical and design process engineers, and manufacturing teams to deliver projects.
