JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Position Summary

The Mechanical Design Engineer Fluid Power Specialist will work closely with our engineering team, machinists, fabricators, assemblers, and programmers to produce world-class manufacturing equipment. This role involves designing and detailing complex, precision components and assemblies, and preparing bills of material for production using the latest 2D and 3D software. The environment is fast-paced and professional, focusing on advanced technology and challenging design projects.

Essential Functions

1. Generate cost-effective, simple-to-manufacture concepts to address design issues.
2. Create engineered, detailed fluid power and mechanical designs that meet all constraints, starting from mechanical assemblies or concepts.
3. Familiarize with UNISIG product lines, coolant, pneumatic, hydraulic systems, and their integration with machine tools.
4. Select fluid power components such as valves, manifolds, motors, pumps, transducers, filters, hoses, tubing, and fittings.
5. Prepare detailed fluid power schematics, mechanical drawings, and bills of material for production.
6. Conduct hands-on evaluation of fluid power system operation and diagnose system failures.
7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical design or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in hydraulic circuit design, hydraulic component selection, and hydraulic system testing/evaluation, or an equivalent combination.
• Excellent work ethic, self-direction, and a desire to advance organizational offerings.
• Strong communication skills for collaboration and mentoring.
• Highly detail-oriented with effective time management.
