Description:

You will be the Mechanical Engineer for Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Field Sustainment team (AFS) at Hill Air Force Base, Utah. Our team is responsible for providing support for F-16 Fighter Aircraft.

What You Will Be Doing:

You will be working on mechanical design efforts on the F-16 fighter aircraft as an embedded engineer in the USAF F-16 engineering office. The F-16 is one of the most widely used military fighter aircraft in the world and is continuously updated to add new capabilities for the warfighter.

Responsibilities include:
• Work closely with government engineers in a secure facility
• Create mechanical component mounting designs
• Work requires candidate to have design flexibility and creativity due to spatial constraints within the aircraft
• Ability to make design decisions
• Ability to solve mechanical design issues
• Understand and create; detail, assembly and installation engineering drawings
• Must be a motivated, self-starter and able to work independently
• Must be a United States citizen. Must possess a Final Secret Security Clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
The following Basic Qualifications are skills must expressed in your resume to be considered for this position:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or relevant technical field
• Minimum of 5 years of mechanical design experience
• Experience with CATIA, Solidworks or equivalent CAD software
• Experience with Structural Finite Element Analysis, such as ANSYS
• Experience with the development and interpretation of mechanical and environmental test parameters and results
• Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and ASME drawing standards
• Active Secret Clearance
Desired Skills:
The following Desired Skills are not required but are those skills that would set a candidate apart from the others:

• Familiarity with military aircraft such as the F-16
• Experience with design of aircraft components using typical aerospace materials and fabrication processes such as metals, tubing, ducting, etc.
• Excellent verbal/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work in a collaborative and highly-integrated team environment
• Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers
• A Master's Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) is strongly preferred for this position
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
