Job summary

Honda Development & Manufacturing of America is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer in Raymond, OH to design, model, and validate automotive mechanical components and sub-systems. You will collaborate closely with styling, testing, and production engineering to deliver high-performance vehicle systems.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering, up to 2 years of design experience, and hands-on CAD with CATIA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering is required.
• 0–2 years of automotive mechanical design or related internship experience.
• Hands-on CAD proficiency (CATIA V5/V6 preferred) and Microsoft Office.
• Strong understanding of engineering mechanics, materials selection, and manufacturing methods.
• Excellent collaboration, organization, and written/verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using CATIA for vehicle body and chassis structures.
• Plan and execute engineering milestones to meet safety, cost, and delivery targets.
• Partner with suppliers to establish part specifications, evaluate design trade-offs, and review prototypes.
• Support hands-on vehicle testing and test-track validation, analyzing mechanical data.
• Proactively identify engineering bottlenecks and propose creative design solutions.
