Job summary

Fairbanks Scales Inc. is seeking an engineer to design, develop, and modify mechanical products at our Meridian, MS facility.

This role requires creating complete CAD drawing packages, sourcing components, estimating costs, and preparing designs for production and regulatory submittals. The ideal candidate will apply mechanical engineering principles to concept, test, and refine new products, review specs for layouts, and collaborate with internal teams to meet product needs.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in mechanical or civil engineering required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Five years of directly related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide concept designs for new products.
• Design and create complete drawing packages for new products on CAD.
• Obtain components and produce draft cost estimates for designs.
• Perform development testing and evaluation of designs in preparation for production and regulatory submittals.
• Provide engineering support for production issues covering manufacture, quality, and testing.
• Conceptualize, define, design, build, and test new products.
• Review specifications and other data to develop mechanical layouts.
• Meet and collaborate with internal contacts to understand the needs and requirements for a new and existing product or mechanical designs.
• Use software to plan and develop simulations, including testing and revising product designs.
• Apply knowledge of engineering principles to design products.
• May be involved in fabrication, or provide support and consultation for installation, and/or repair of products.
