Job summary

Advantage Technical is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer for a temporary contract-to-hire role in Tampa, FL. You will design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems, producing 3D CAD models and detailed drawings while applying DFM principles.

You will work with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver manufacturable solutions through production and installation. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in mechanical design, proficiency with SolidWorks and 3D CAD,

Qualifications

• 3+ years of mechanical engineering or mechanical design experience.
• SolidWorks experience required; familiarity with 3D CAD workflows.
• Experience with machining, welding and sheet metal fabrication.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; security clearance eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, structures, and systems.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and documentation.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles and best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Support fabrication, assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and production activities.
• Drive continuous improvement and design changes.
• Assist with project planning, technical reviews, and customer requirements.
