Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to design, prototype, and document mechanical components and assemblies for our packaging equipment. You will translate 3D models into precise drawings, prepare BOM-based documentation, and support customers with AutoCAD layouts and PowerPoint presentations using SolidWorks models.

The role emphasizes safety-first leadership, collaboration with internal stakeholders, and potential engagement with local suppliers.

Qualifications

• Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering degree or similar.
• Experience in AutoCAD.
• Experience designing for the food industry and hygienic design is preferred.
• Experience in sheet metal design and understanding welding implications.
• SolidWorks experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Geographic Scope: United States.
• Act as a safety leader and promote a safety-first environment.
• Complete 3D designs for new and existing machine components, fabrications and assemblies.
• Translate 3D models into detailed drawings with attention to detail.
• Create machine documentation from BOMs for manufacture through to parts manuals and after-sales service.
• Layout in AutoCAD for potential customers.
• Create equipment presentations in PowerPoint using provided 3D SolidWorks models.
• Assist with creation of operational manuals for existing equipment.
• Assist with locating local suppliers for parts as needed.
