Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Mechanical Designer to design, develop and implement custom manufacturing equipment and tooling for Amcor operations in Wisconsin. You will create detailed 3D models and prints using SolidWorks and support continuous improvements on production lines.

The ideal candidate has an Associate Degree in Mechanical Design or related field, 3+ years of mechanical design experience, and proficiency with SolidWorks, engineering drawings, and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Mechanical Design, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field (minimum requirement).
  • 3+ years of mechanical design experience preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks including parts, assemblies, weldments, and print creation.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Create manufacturing prints, fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Design machine components, tooling, fixtures, guarding, and production equipment modifications.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously from concept through implementation.
  • Coordinate project activities with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Limited travel may be required.

Job Description

The Mechanical Designer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of custom manufacturing equipment, tooling, and process improvements for Amcor operations.
