Job summary

Actalent, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Kaizen Specialist for a 6 month contract to hire in Visalia, CA. The role focuses on leading Kaizen initiatives, coaching teams, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and product quality.

Ideal candidates have 3-5 years in manufacturing, CAD proficiency (AutoCAD or SolidWorks), and a strong lean/six sigma background. Onsite work with comprehensive benefits and potential for permanent hire.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience in manufacturing environment
• Proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks)
• Experience with process design, process/continuous improvement
• Strong experience in LEAN principles
• Experience in metal fabrication/assembly over food production preferred

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Continuous Improvement Manager to develop and execute Kaizen initiatives throughout the manufacturing facility.
• Conduct Kaizen events, workshops, and training sessions to educate and engage employees at all levels in continuous improvement practices.
• Identify areas for improvement within manufacturing processes through observation, data analysis, and employee feedback.
• Develop and implement small‑scale, incremental improvements to enhance process efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented Kaizen initiatives, ensuring sustained performance and adherence to standards.
• Facilitate cross‑functional teams to drive improvement projects and achieve set goals.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for further improvement.
• Document and standardize improved processes to ensure consistency and repeatability.
• Prepare and present reports on Kaizen initiatives and their outcomes to management.
• Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in Kaizen and continuous improvement.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Visalia, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $75000.00 - $95000.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
